The Berkshire Regional Transit Authority (BRTA) Advisory Board voted yesterday afternoon to end bus service on BRTA bus Route 7 and bus Route 40 due to low ridership and the loss of dedicated funding. Both bus routes will run through February 10, 2017 to allow customers ample time to research with bus route will accommodate their needs. Notices have been posted in each BRTA bus, inside the Intermodal Transportation Center, and on the BRTA website.
Service from Pittsfield to North Adams will still be available along US Route 7 via:
- BRTA bus Route 34
- Early Bus Monday to Friday Leaves Downing Parkway at 5:05AM. Connects to Mall Blvd to Route 7 North to Route 2 East to Main St North Adams for 6:20AM. Destination North Adams Walmart at 6:30AM
- Early Bus Saturday Leaves Downing at 6:05AM. Connects to Mall Blvd to Route 7 North to Route 2 East to Main St North Adams for 7:20AM. Destination North Adams Walmart at 7:30AM
- BRTA bus Route 3
- Early Bus Monday to Friday Leaves Downing at 6:20AM. Connects to Crane Ave to Route 7 North to Route 2 East. Destination Main St North Adams at 7:15AM.
- Early Bus Saturday Leaves Downing at 7:15AM. Connects to Crane Ave to Route 7 North. Destination Williams Inn at 7:45AM.
Service from North Adams to Pittsfield will still be available along US Route 7 via:
- BRTA bus Route 34
- Late Bus Monday to Saturday Leaves North Adams Walmart at 6:30PM. Connects to Ashland St to Main St North Adams to Route 2 West to Route 7 South. Destination Downing Parkway at 7:40PM.
- BRTA bus Route 3
- Late Bus Monday to Saturday Leaves Williams Inn at 6:40PM. Connects to Route 7 South to Crane Ave. Destination Downing Parkway at 7:50PM.
