The Berkshire Regional Transit Authority (BRTA) is soliciting proposals from qualified transportation providers to manage and operate BRTA’s fixed route and paratransit services. Pursuant to Massachusetts General Law (MGL) Chapter 161B, Section 25, the BRTA may not directly operate its transportation services. Any contract awarded under this RFP is subject to finance assistance contracts between BRTA and the U.S. Department of Transportation (US DOT), Federal Transit Administration (FTA), and/or the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT). The contract will therefore by subject to the regulations of both FTA and MassDOT.
In accordance with the current FTA guidelines, the selected Management Contractor will provide transportation management services commencing July 1, 2021, for a term of three (3) years, ending June 30, 2024, at the discretion of the Administrator. Additionally, there is a possibility of two (2) one-year extensions to June 30, 2026, again at the discretion of the Administrator.

Proposers should prepare written questions and submit prior to 11 AM on October 26, 2020.
Sealed proposals must be received at the BRTA Administrative Office no later than 11 AM on November 23, 2020.
