Employment Based Transportation Concept

The BRTA recognizes the lack of transportation options available to employers and employees after the buses stop running around 6 PM. The BRTA, in conjunction with McMahon Associates, performed a study on employment based transportation including: where the employment centers are, what the various shifts are, and how to connect these employees to their jobs once public transportation ends. Berkshire County residents are invited to attend a public meeting to hear the various aspects of the study and then to provide feedback on this conceptual idea. These public meetings will be held in North, Central, and South Berkshire located on a bus route during public transportation hours.

The first meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at “The Green”, 87 Main Street, North Adams from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM.

The next meeting will also be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at BRTA Intermodal Center, 2nd floor Boardroom, 1 Columbus Avenue, Pittsfield from 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM.

The final meeting will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at the Great Barrington Fire Station, 37 State Road, Great Barrington from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
